Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (application period typically August-September)
The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, a flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI),
accepts applications typically from August to September. This program brings 500 young leaders to the United States annually for academic coursework and
leadership training with the aim of creating opportunities for Fellows to apply new skills in leading organizations, communities, and countries. More information

Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) – Regional Leadership Centers
The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Regional Leadership Centres play a pivotal role in fostering leadership development across the African continent.
Established under the YALI, these centers serve as hubs for training and empowering young leaders in various sectors. The initiative aims to address the critical
need for skilled and innovative leadership to drive positive change. Through the YALI Regional Leadership Centres, emerging leaders gain the tools and inspiration needed to
contribute meaningfully to their communities and countries.

Community Solutions
The Community Solutions Program (CSP), accepting applications typically from October to November, is a professional development initiative
for global community leaders working on issues related to the environment, tolerance and conflict resolution, transparency and accountability,
and women and gender. It is a year-long program that includes a four-month fellowship in a U.S. community-based organization, government office, or legislative body.
